VPP and CUPS backend

• Install the VPP client
• Download the vpp backend script and install it in /usr/lib/cups/backend/vpp (adjust the path according to your CUPS installation)
• You can then configure a printer using the following URL scheme: vpp://DESTINATION/DEVICE

Nokia E90 configuration

Some hints on how to configure a Nokia E90 (or another S60 device) to use ETH infrastructure.

802.1x

To be able to use the wireless network you can connect to the 'public' network and authenticate via the landing page or use the 'eth' network and use the 802.1x authentication.

While 'public' works on the spot 'eth' need some configuration. I found some hints from A. Schultschick that I summarize here:

Download the Cybertrust certificate from http://secure.globalsign.net/cacert/sureserverEDU.crt and sent to your device vie Bluetooth. Open it and install it

In the 'Settings', 'Connection', 'Access points' configure the following for the 'eth' network:

• Connection name: eth
• Data bearer: Wireless LAN
• WLAN network name: eth
• Network status: Public
• WLAN network mode: Infrastructure
• WLAN security mode: WPA/WPA2
• WLAN security settings:
  • WPA/WPA2: EAP
  • EAP-plugin settings:
    • increase the priority (first place) of EAP-PEAP and activate it.
      Edit it as follows:
      • 'Settings' tab
        • Personal certificate: Not defined
        • Authority certificate: Cybertrust Educational
        • User name in use: User defined
        • User name: your nethz user name
        • Realm in use: User defined
        • Realm: leave empty
      • 'EAPs' tab
        • increase the priority of 'EAP-MSCHAPv2' (first place) and activate it. Edit it as follows:
          • User name: your nethz user name
          • Prompt password: no
          • Password: your corresponding nethz password

It was successfully tested on both a Nokia E70 and a Nokia E90
